Death Valley Observatories Star Party
October 9-10, 2026
Death Valley Observatories (DVO) is a "Telescope Hosting Facility" located in Amargosa Valley, Nevada. As part of their outreach to the astronomical community, they plan to host star parties on their property from time to time.
As it was last time, the number of attendees will be limited. However, based on last time, we are doubling the number of spectators allowed.
Registration is required as the number of attendees must be limited. Registration also gives us an email address for updates pertaining to the weather or other contingencies.

Camping:
RVs can be parked at the south end of the parking area. All exterior lights must remain off at all times during night operations. Interior lighting should be contained by blinds or covered windows. No electrical, water or sewer hookups are available.
Tent Camping is in the designated area on the site map; Note that this is a rough, desert camping location.

Layout
The telescope field is a concrete slab. Astronomers will have 12x12 areas to set up telescopes. There will be a walkway down the center of the field, where spectators can walk to visit the telescope sites. Parking for astonomers and spectators is adjacent to the telescope field.

From Vegas North 95:
- Take US95N to NV-373 S in Amargosa Valley, roughly 97.8 Miles
- Left on NV-373 S, 5.2 Miles
- Right on E Amargosa Farm Rd, 9.7 Miles
- Right on Quail Drive, 1 Mile
- Left on W. Frontier Street, 0.5 Mile
- Left on N. Diablo Drive, Destination on the left
From South Vegas through Pahrump:
- Take Highway 160 (Blue Diamond Road) through Pahrump to US 95, roughly 80 Miles
- Left on US95 North, 16.6 Miles
- Left on NV-373 S, 5.2 Miles
- Right on E Amargosa Farm Rd, 9.7 Miles
- Right on Quail Drive, 1 Mile
- Left on W. Frontier Street, 0.5 Mile
- Left on N. Diablo Drive, Destination on the left
Note: Quail, Frontier, and Diablo are graded dirt roads, but still subject to washboarding. Keep speeds low to limit dust.
